AMBUSH CLOSE OUT SEASON THIS WEEKEND

The St. Louis Ambush close out their 2014-15 Major Arena Soccer League season with two games this weekend. On Friday, February 20, the Ambush travel to Tulsa to tangle with the Revolution at 7:05 p.m., then return home on Saturday, February 21 when they host the Tacoma Stars in the season finale at 7:35 p.m. at the Family Arena.

Friday’s match against Tulsa is the third of three this season. The Ambush won the previous two duels and are aiming for a sweep on Friday. Saturday’s visit by the Stars is the only battle between St. Louis and Tacoma this season.

The Ambush will journey to Tulsa looking to improve on their 6-12 record, good enough for fifth place in the Central Division. Tulsa is in last place with a 2-15 record. St. Louis will be without the services of Chad Vandegriffe and Anthony Arico for Friday’s game. Both are facing one-game suspensions from the MASL for the accumulation of penalty cards, a league rule initiated mid-season.

When Tacoma invades the Family Arena on Saturday, it will mark the first visit by the Stars to St. Louis in 23 years. The last time the Tacoma Stars played in St. Louis was March 13, 1992, when they suffered a 6-5 overtime loss at the hands of the St. Louis Storm. The current Tacoma Stars joined the MASL in mid January when Stars team owner Lane Smith purchased the rights to the Seattle Impact. Since their first MASL game on January 16, the Stars have compiled a 1-4 record.
