AMBUSH RE-SIGN CODY COSTAKIS

The St. Louis Ambush have re-signed midfielder Cody Costakis, team owner Andrew Haines announced today. Costakis registered three goals and two assists in seven games played during the 2014-15 season, his first with the club.

Costakis is the twelfth player signed by the Ambush for next season, joining Anthony Arico, Kory Dowell, Axel Duarte, Adnan Gabeljic, Gordy Gurson, Bobby Hurtwitz, Ross MacGregor, Chris Mattingly, Blake Ordell, Richard Schmermund and Odaine Sinclair.

Costakis is a native of Puyallup, Washington. He played high school soccer in the state of Washington at the Charles Wright Academy where he earned 1st Team All-State honors in 2007. Cody was a 2011 NSCAA All-American at Washington University in St. Louis. He was also an NSCAA Academic All-American that same year. He has played for Seattle Sounders U23 in the PDL and has played professionally for the Illinois Piasa (PASL) and FC Bordo (NPSL). Costakis compiled five goals in 10 games for the Piasa during the 2013-14 season.

The Ambush play in the Major Arena Soccer League and will begin their 2015-16 campaign this fall, with the schedule expected to be released by the league in late summer.
