Forward Jerjer Gibson Joins Ambush

by Jim Fossell

St. Charles, MO (October 5, 2017) – Forward Jerjer Gibson has joined the St. Louis Ambush roster for the 2017-18 season. Per league and club policies, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Gibson brings four seasons of professional arena soccer experience to the Ambush. He has played for the Pennsylvania Roar (MISL), Baltimore Blast (MASL), and the past two seasons with the Syracuse Silver Knights (MASL). He has tallied 47 points (34 goals and 13 assists) in his 64-game indoor soccer career.

Gibson played high school soccer at El Camino High School in Los Angeles, California and at J.P. McCaskey High School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Jerjer played collegiate soccer at Wilmington University in New Castle, Delaware.

Gibson is excited to come to the Ambush and to be a part of the rich soccer history of the St. Louis area. He will wear uniform number 92, in recognition of the first year the original Ambush played in St. Louis. Gibson’s size (6’2” and 210 pounds) and strength should make him a good target in front of the goal and help bolster the Ambush offense.

The Ambush open their 2017-18 schedule on the road when they face the Kansas City Comets on November 4. The Ambush kick off the home portion of the new season when they host the Milwaukee Wave on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 7:05 p.m. at the Family Arena. The 2017-18 season will be the fifth for the franchise, who has called the Family Arena home since 2013. November 11 is also Veterans Day, and the Ambush will recognize our Veterans during the game. Leading up to the home opener, the Ambush invite fans to the Fan Fest, which will include a free exhibition game, on Saturday, October 21 at the Family Arena.
