As Co-Owner, General Manager and Head Coach of the Ambush, Jeff Locker's enthusiasm and energy for the franchise is evident.

Locker became co-owner of the Ambush in December, 2019 and took over the General Manager position in March, 2020. He added the role of Interim Head Coach in January, 2021 before dropping the "Interim" title prior to the 2022-23 season.

Locker is an experienced wealth manager, specializing in financial planning for individuals, families and business owners. After 10 years in the industry, working as an advisor, mentor, sales manager and partner at a previous firm, he began AXIUS in 2010. 

Jeff excels at understanding a client’s goals and then crafting a comprehensive plan designed specifically to meet those goals. He has even been recognized for his accomplishments by being awarded several industry awards, including the Five Star Wealth Manager Award and is a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT).

Jeff attended Truman State University, and earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance and a minor in Economics. He then continued his education by attaining the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designation, the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) and FINRA Series 7, 24, 63 and 65.

When asked what was different about the AXIUS experience, Jeff immediately thought of an Abraham Lincoln quote that he feels embodies the AXIUS spirit. “Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other.”

Locker is a native of St. Charles County, where he still works and resides with his wife Heather and their four children. They also share their house with turtles and frogs, there’s always excitement at the Locker house. Jeff is extremely active in the children’s school, the Academy of the Sacred Heart. He is on the committee furthering enrichment and enjoys giving back to the St. Charles Community.

In his spare time, you can find Jeff on the soccer field, either playing or coaching. Jeff and his family love to travel, and he has been all over the world. He did the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and the original marathon in Athens, Greece. They often visit Disney World in Orlando, and they are hoping to take a Disney Cruise soon. Jeff is an outdoorsman, and loves spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks, fishing, boating, spending time on the water or golfing. Family game night is also a big hit at their house, you’ll often find the family playing Clue, Shufflepuck or other board games.

Jamie Swanner

Jamie Swanner is a St. Louis indoor soccer legend who has played for the St. Louis Ambush, Canton Invaders, Buffalo Blizzard and Kansas City Attack in a stellar career that spanned 16 seasons.

Jamie Swanner is a St. Louis indoor soccer legend who has played for the St. Louis Ambush, Canton Invaders, Buffalo Blizzard and Kansas City Attack in a stellar career that spanned 16 seasons.

Swanner was instrumental in the Ambush capturing the 1994-95 NPSL Championship. Jamie was Head Coach of the Ambush for the 1999-2000 season. Swanner was owner and Head Coach of the St. Louis Illusion (PASL-Pro) from 2008 to 2010. In 1997, Swanner became an assistant coach with both the Duchesne High School and Lewis and Clark Community College teams.

Prior to turning pro, Swanner was a member of the 1984 US Olympic Team and the 1984 US National Team. Swanner attended Southwest High School in St. Louis. After graduating from high school, he was a goalkeeper on Clemson University’s men’s soccer team. In 1983, his senior season, he earned first team All American honors and was named the ISAA Goalkeeper of the Year. He also lettered in baseball at Clemson in 1983.

Swanner became Assistant Coach and Goalkeeper Coach of the Ambush in December 2015. The 2022-23 season marks his eighth as Assistant Coach for the team.

Donnie Alberty

Director of Scouting / Assistant Coach

Donnie Alberty joined the Ambush as an Assistant Coach in November, 2020 and added the role of Director of Scouting in January, 2023. Alberty is also Head Coach of Men’s Soccer at Fontbonne University.

Donnie Alberty joined the Ambush as an Assistant Coach in November, 2020 and added the role of Director of Scouting in January, 2023. Alberty is also Head Coach of Men’s Soccer at Fontbonne University.

Alberty brings over 25 years of coaching experience to the Ambush, including four years at Fontbonne. In his time at Fontbonne, the program has produced one Defensive Player of the Year, two All-Region, three SLIAC First Team All-Conference, five Second Team All-Conference, and four Third Team All-Conference selectees.

In 2017, his first season at Fontbonne, Alberty guided the Griffins to a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Regular Season Championship, its first since the 2013 season. The team finished with 13 wins that season which gave Alberty the SLIAC Coach of the Year and his win total is second most in program history for a first-year head coach at Fontbonne.

Prior to joining the Griffins, Alberty spent two seasons as head men’s soccer coach at St. Charles Community College. There, he helped develop one All-Region, four Second Team All-Region, three First Team All-Conference, and four other players that were named to the All-Conference Second Team.

In addition to his coaching role, Coach Alberty serves as the SLIAC representative on the NCAA Central Region Rankings Committee, is a member of the Fontbonne University Mental Health Awareness Committee and this past summer was promoted to Director of Compliance.

Coach Alberty has coached with numerous clubs in the St. Louis area and holds a USSF License.

Coach Alberty earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Missouri Baptist University. He resides in St. Peters with his wife Tammy and children, Bryce and Abby.
