St. Charles, Missouri (November 14. 2023) – The St. Louis Ambush have acquired veteran defender James Togbah from the Kansas City Comets for financial considerations, the team announced today. Togbah is under contract through the 2023-24 season.

Togbah, a native of Monrovia, Liberia, is a veteran of six seasons in the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL). He played two seasons with the Comets from 2017-19, then the 2019-20 season with Utica City FC before returning to Kansas City from 2020 to 2023. In 83 career games, Togbah scored 32 goals and added 14 assists while blocking 48 opposing shots. He also played semi-pro soccer with FC Wichita following a collegiate career at Eastern Florida State.

Togbah said, “I am familiar with the Ambush organization from playing against them for several years. Like Kansas City, they have an avid fan base and I look forward to experiencing this great rivalry from the other side.”
