Ambush Battle Wave in Milwaukee Saturday

by Jim Fossell

St. Charles, MO (December 2, 2016) – The St. Louis Ambush (0-4) make their first trip of the season to Milwaukee when they tangle with the Wave (2-4) this Saturday, December 3 at 7:05 p.m. at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.

Milwaukee is looking to rebound from an 11-4 loss to the Kansas City Comets in their most recent contest. They are returning to home turf after after going 1-3 in four consecutive road games. The Wave have the firepower to provide a stern test for the Ambush with players like veteran midfielder Ian Bennett, who is tied for fourth in the MASL in both goals and points and leads the league in power play goals.

The Ambush come to Milwaukee seeking their first win of the season. They are coming off a tough overtime loss to the Chicago Mustangs last Sunday. That was a hard-fought battle that could have gone either way and the Ambush, overall, played a good game. Ambush defender Chris Mattingly presently leads the league in blocks (15) while goalkeeper Casey Clark has the third-best save percentage (.744) in the MASL.

There is a fair amount of familiarity between the players on these two teams that goes beyond competing in the same division. Wave forward Andre Hayne played for the Ambush last season and defender Chad Vandegriffe played for the Ambush the last three seasons. Ambush forward Stefan St. Louis played the last two seasons with the Wave and forward Corey Adamson played for the Wave during the 2014-15 season.

Fans can catch all the action live this Saturday by watching the game live on MASL-TV on YouTube.

After Saturday’s clash in Milwaukee, the Ambush return home when they welcome the expansion Florida Tropics for the first time ever Friday, December 9 at 7:35 p.m. at the Family Arena. Season, single game and group tickets are available for all remaining home games. For more information, call the Ambush office at 636-477-6363.
