AMBUSH HEAD SOUTH OF THE BORDER FOR PAIR OF GAMES THIS WEEKEND
Saint Charles, Missouri (January 26, 2023) – The St. Louis Ambush journey to Mexico for two games this weekend. On Friday, January 27, the Ambush visit the Chihuahua Savage, followed by a trip to Monterrey to clash with the Flash Sunday, January 29.
The Ambush have won two of their last three games, including an improbable come-from-behind victory on January 20, when Robert Kristo tied the match in the final second of regulation play, sending the contest into overtime, where Duduca Carvalho scored the game winner.
Chihuahua comes into the weekend as one of the hottest teams in the Major Arena Soccer League as they are enjoying a five-game winning streak. Monterrey has also won two of their last three, including back-to-back games last weekend.
Ahead of this weekend’s road trip, the Ambush announced two roster moves this week. The team signed midfielder John Eberle, a Virginia native who played collegiate soccer at William and Mary College in Williamsburg, Virginia. Eberle also spent time with Lionsbridge FC in USL League 2. Eberle also comes to the Ambush with some familiarity as he played collegiate soccer with current players Marcel Berry and Will Eskay.
In another move, the team sent veteran defender Stefan Mijatovic to Utica City FC for tuture considerations. Utica marks the fifth team Mijatovic has played for since joining the MASL in 2016.
Following this weekend’s action, the Ambush visit the Kansas City Comets for the last time in the regular season on Saturday, February 4 at the Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence. The next Ambush home stand will be games on Friday, February 10 and Saturday, February 11. The Milwaukee Wave invade The Family Arena for the February 10 affair, follwed by a visit from the Florida Tropics on February 12. All Ambush games are available for webcast at twitch.com.
