St. Charles, MO (January 16, 2020) – The St. Louis Ambush (4-5) host Utica City FC (6-2) in a pair of games this weekend at the Family Arena. The first of the two matches is slated for Friday, January 17 at 7:35 p.m. CST and the rematch will be Sunday, January 19 at 3:05 p.m. CST.

In their most recent outing, the Ambush defeated the defending MASL champion Milwaukee Wave, 8-7 in overtime, last Sunday, January 12 in Milwaukee. In their last game, Utica defeated the Harrisburg Heat 7-5 in Utica last Sunday.

The Ambush will have some new faces available for this weekend’s games. Veteran defender Jonatan Santos was acquired from the Wave January 4 and immediately made his presence felt, blocking eight of his former team’s shots in the January 12 affair. This week, the Ambush added to their offense when they acquired forward Anthony Grant from the Kansas City Comets. Grant is a veteran of three seasons in the Major Arena Soccer League and comes to St. Louis with a career record of 46 goals and 11 assists in 49 games played.

Other players to watch for the Ambush include Tony Walls, who has a six-game scoring streak and leads the team in both goals (13) and points (17). Ambush forward JT Thomas posted two goals and three assists in last Sunday’s win over the Wave. He has four goals and four assists in his last two games. He is tied for first on the team in assists (five) and is tied for second in points (13) and goals (eight). Ambush forward Duduca is also on a hot streak. He tallied two goals on Sunday in Milwaukee and has six goals and an assist in his last three games. He is tied for first on the team in assists (five) and is tied for second in points (13) and goals (eight).

Sunday’s game will also include the popular mascot game at halftime, featuring mascots from local sports teams (including Louie from the Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues), businesses and organizations participating in a zany and fun soccer match.
