AMBUSH PLAY A PAIR OF HOME GAMES THIS WEEKEND

St. Charles, MO – Plenty of professional indoor soccer action is on tap this weekend as the St. Louis Ambush play back-to-back games at the Family Arena Friday and Saturday nights. On Friday, January 29, the Ambush host the rival Chicago Mustangs at 7:35 p.m. The next evening, Saturday, January 30, the Baltimore Blast come to town for a 7:05 p.m. duel.

The Mustangs invade the Family Arena with an 11-3 record and are tied with the Missouri Comets for first place in the MASL Central Division. Both the Mustangs and Comets have clinched playoff spots. With a 2-10 record, the Ambush are trying to salvage their season under the direction of new Head Coach Tony Glavin. The Ambush got off to a 0-6 start and have compiled a 2-4 record under Glavin.

Saturday’s battle against the Blast marks the first meeting between St. Louis and Baltimore since February 6, 2014. The Blast are a perennial contender and have a firm grip on first place in the MASL Eastern Division with an 11-1 record. Baltimore made it to the championship series last season before falling 2-1 to the Monterrey Flash.

This weekend is also Retro/Alumni Weekend at the Family Arena, with the Ambush honoring the St. Louis professional indoor soccer teams and players that preceded them. Friday, January 29 is “80′s Night” and Saturday, January 30 is “90′s Night”. Fans are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite 80′s attire on Friday night and 90′s attire on Saturday night.

Alumni Players from the Steamers, Storm and Ambush will be on hand both nights. On Friday, an Autograph Session will take place on the concourse from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. and will feature players from the original St. Louis Steamers and the St. Louis Storm (1979-1992). On Saturday, the Autograph Session is slated for 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. and will feature players from the original St. Louis Ambush and the 2000-06 St. Louis Steamers. On Friday, Alumni players in attendance will be introduced and recognized at halftime. On Saturday, Alumni players will take the pitch once again in an Alumni Game at halftime.

Following this weekend’s two home games, the Ambush will take to the road for two games when they visit the Tacoma Stars on February 5 and the Cedar Rapids Rampage on February 13. The Ambush return home to the Family Arena when they host the Waza Flo on Friday, February 19 at 7:35 p.m.
