ST. LOUIS HOSTS DIVISION RIVALS IN BOTH GAMES

St. Charles, MO (January 31, 2019) – The St. Louis Ambush play back-to-back home games at the Family Arena this weekend, hosting the Florida Tropics on Friday, February 1 at 7:35 p.m. CT and the Orlando SeaWolves on Saturday, February 2 at 7:05 p.m. This weekend’s games mark the start of a seven-game home stand for the Ambush, the longest home stand of the 2018-19 regular season.

Friday’s game is the fourth of six meetings between the Ambush and Tropics slated for the 2018-19 regular season. The Tropics come to town having won two of the three games played thus far between the two teams. Saturday’s contest against the SeaWolves is the third of four scheduled games between the two teams. The Ambush won both previous matches against Orlando this season.

The Tropics won 9-7 the last time they faced the Ambush, last Saturday, January 26 at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland, Florida. The Ambush won 7-6 in the most recent match against the SeaWolves, last Friday, January 25 on the SeaWolves’ home turf when Zach Reget scored the game winner with five seconds remaining in the game.

The Ambush are currently in third place in the MASL South Central Division with a 6-7 record, while Orlando is in fourth place at 3-5 and Florida occupies fifth place at 4-7. The Milwaukee Wave leads the division with a 9-2 record, leaving Kansas City, St. Louis, Orlando and Florida vying for second place, which garners the second playoff berth at the end of the regular season. Given the relatively close standings and the fact that all three teams are in contention for the postseason, spirited contests are likely in both games on the Family Arena turf this weekend.
