by Jim Fossell

St. Charles, MO (December 1, 2020) – The St. Louis Ambush and Tacoma Stars have cancelled their game originally scheduled for this Sunday, December 6 at the Family Arena, the teams announced today.

With COVID-19 cases on the rise nationwide, the Ambush have also put in place additional safety measures to keep fans and players safe for the upcoming Central Cup tournament, which includes games at the Family Arena on December 12 and December 20. The additional regulations include a face mask requirement for all fans in the arena and the addition of glass surrounding the entire field of play. Normally, the side sections of the field are open.

“We want to ensure that all proper safety protocols, including the new measures, are in place before taking the field,” said Ambush General Manager Jeff Locker. “Postponing Sunday’s game will allow us sufficient time to do just that. The safety of our fans, players and staff are of the utmost importance.”

The Ambush will return to action when they participate in the Central Cup, a four-team tournament comprised of the Ambush, Kansas City Comets, Wichita Wings and Dallas Sidekicks. The tournament kicks off December 12 and concludes on December 20. The Ambush will host the Wings on December 12 at 2:05 p.m. CT and the Sidekicks on December 20 at 12:05 p.m. CT.

The Ambush anticipate kicking off their 2020-21 season in late December or early January, pending finalization of the schedule by the Major Arena Soccer League. Season tickets are now on sale and can be purchased by calling the Ambush office at 636-477-6363.
