St. Charles, Missouri (November 2, 2023) – The St. Louis Ambush have signed forward/midfielder Billy Stimac to a three-year contract extension, the team announced today. The deal will keep Stimac in an Ambush uniform through the 2025-26 season. Per league and team policies, no further details of the deal were disclosed.

In his 2022-23 rookie season, Stimac appeared in 16 games with the Ambush, tallying six goals and four assists. He also showed his talent on defense, blocking 12 opponent shots.

Stimac is a St. Louis area native from Manchester, Missouri. He began playing youth soccer at the age of five. He played youth soccer with CYC and Lou Fusz.

Billy played high school soccer at Parkway West, where he earned second team all-district honors in his Junior year.

Stimac played four years of collegiate soccer at Maryville University, where he served as team captain, went to the 2017 NCAA nationals and received the team Sportsmanship Award. He also played the most minutes in the nation in 2015.

Prior to joining the Ambush, Stimac played semi-pro soccer with FC Maritsa.

Stimac said, “I’m thrilled to re-sign with the Ambush. To be able to represent the city of St. Louis and the crest of the Ambush is an honor. Eleven years in the league and I am excited for this season. I have nothing but belief in the coaching staff and the players that we’ll make this a season to remember! Can’t wait for opening night on November 24.”

The Ambush will kick off their eleventh season when they host the Milwaukee Wave in their home opener on Black Friday, November 24 at 5:05 p.m. at The Family Arena.
