AMBUSH RE-SIGN TONY WALLS

St. Charles, MO (December 29, 2020) – The St. Louis Ambush have signed Tony Walls to an extension that will keep him in an Ambush uniform through the 2022-23 season, the team announced today. Per league and team policies, no further details of the deal were disclosed.

Walls appeared in 16 games with the Ambush last season, posting 16 goals and eight assists. He is a veteran of seven professional indoor soccer seasons, having played with the Milwaukee Wave (2013-16), Cedar Rapids Rampage (2016-18) and Ontario Fury (2018-19) prior to joining the Ambush for the 2019-20 season, his first with the club. In 104 career games, Tony has posted 71 goals and 37 assists. 

Walls also had played with outdoor teams the Michigan Bucks (2011), Chicago Fire (2012), Rochester Rhinos (2014-16), Chattanooga Red Wolves (2019) and Pittsburgh Riverhounds (2020). Local fans may also remember Walls from his stint with St. Louis FC (2017-18). 

Ambush Head Coach Hewerton said, “Tony Walls was an important part of our offense last season and we expect him to be a major contributor going forward. His combination of experience and skill makes him an invaluable asset to our team.”

Ambush General Manager Jeff Locker emphasized the importance of Walls’ multi-year deal saying, “My goal is to build a competitive team now and in the future. Securing the services of key players like Tony Walls helps achieve that goal.”

The Ambush will kick off the 2021 season in January with road games in Florida (January 2 and 3) and Dallas (January 9). Their home opener is slated for Saturday, January 16 when the Ambush welcome the Kansas City Comets to the Family Arena for a 7:05 p.m. CT duel.
