St. Charles, Missouri (July 20, 2020) – The St. Louis Ambush continue to make waves in the Major Arena Soccer League’s free agent pool, today announcing the signing of goalkeeper Brett Petricek to a two year deal with a mutual option for a third year. Per league and team policies, no further details of the contract were dislosed.
Petricek, a native of Woodridge, Illinois, is a veteran of four seasons in the MASL. He appeared in 29 games with the Cedar Rapids Rampage over two seasons (2016-18). As a member of the Kansas City Comets during the 2018-19 season, Petricek appeared in 11 games. Last season for the Florida Tropics, Brett made eight appearances. In his 48 career MASL games, Petricek has compiled some impressive stats. His career win-loss record is 27-17, his save percentage is .685 and his goals against average is 5.91.
“With the addition of Brett Petricek,” stated Ambush General Manager Jeff Locker, “along with Paulo, we now have two stellar goalkeepers and will be solid in the net under any circumstance.”
Ambush Head Coach Hewerton echoed his GM’s thoughts saying, “When you have the opportunity to have two starting-quality goalkeepers, you take it. Brett and Paulo will help put our team in a position to compete and to win from the home opener through the playoffs.”
Petricek said, “I’m very happy and excited to be joining the Ambush organization today. The professionalism of the club from front office to back, my previous playing experience and relationship with Hewerton, the beautiful city of St. Louis, and the big signings and moves the club is making made it an easy decision to join the Ambush. Now let’s go win a championship!”
