AMBUSH SIGN ROOKIE DEFENDER ALEXIS ROBLES
St. Charles, Missouri (January 20, 2021) – The St. Louis Ambush have signed rookie defender Alexis Robles for the remainder of the 2021 season, the team announced today. Per league and team policies, no further details of the deal were disclosed.
Robles is a native of Harvard, Illinois. He played four years of varsity soccer at Harvard High School, where he was All-Kishwaukee River Conference as a junior and senior and Conference Player of the Year as a senior. His collegiate career was spent at Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois where he played two and a half years.
Ambush General Manager Jeff Locker said, “Alexis joins the Ambush with an impressive amateur background. Adding young players like Alexis to our organization helps solidify the foundation for the team’s future.”
Ambush head coach Hewerton said, “I am impressed with the technical skills Alexis has shown in workouts with the team and look forward as he continues to develop at the professional level.”
Robles said, “I would like to thank the Ambush organization for the opportunity. I'm happy and blessed to be a part of the Ambush family. I'm very excited to begin my career here.”
The Ambush are back in action this Sunday, January 24, when the Tacoma Stars come to town for a 5:05 p.m. CST battle on the Axuis Field at the Family Arena. Following Sunday’s match, the Ambush continue their current home stand when the Florida Tropics come to town for a pair of games January 29 and 31, followed by a two-game set against the Ontario Fury February 5 and 6.
