AMBUSH SIGN ROOKIE JOHN ESKAY

St. Charles, Missouri (November 22, 2023) – The St. Louis Ambush announced the signing of rookie John Eskay to a three-year deal. Per league and team policies, no further details of the deal were disclosed.

Eskay is a native of Urbana, Maryland. He played semi-pro soccer with FC Frederick (NPSL) and Georgia Revolution (NPSL).

John played collegiate soccer at the College of William and Mary, where he earned a B.B.A. in Marketing, followed by one season at the University of South Carolina, where he attended the Darla Moore School of Business in pursuit of his Masters in Business Administration degree. Among the honors during his collegiate career were the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll, William and Mary Provost Award and the Gamecocks Athletic Honor Roll (at USC).

Eskay played prep soccer at Urbana High School in Ijamsville, Maryland. Among the accolades during his high school career were being a two-time All-State selection, All-County Player of the Year in 2017, a four-time All-MVAL and all-county pick, helped lead Urbana to the 2016 Class 3A State Championships, a four-year letterwinner and was team captain during his senior season. He began playing youth soccer at the age of three.

Eskay said, “I’m incredibly excited and thankful to be joining the Ambush to play for such a respected program. I’m looking forward to an amazing season with a great group of players, staff, and fans.”  John is also the brother of Ambush midfielder William Eskay. His usual position is forward.

The Ambush will kick off their 2023-24 season when they host the Milwaukee Wave this Friday, November 24 at 5:05 p.m. CT at The Family Arena. Single game, season and group tickets are now on sale.
