AMBUSH SIGN SPIRIDON “NIKO” KARIDIS

St. Charles, MO (June 3, 2019) – The St. Louis Ambush have signed hometown defender Spiridon “Niko” Karidis, Ambush co-owner and CEO Shelly Clark announced today. Per league and team policies, no other details were announced.

Niko played high school soccer locally at CBC High School for three years before finishing high school in Greece, where he played semi-pro soccer with Ilioupoli and Glyfada in Athens. He played collegiate soccer at St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. Karidis has trained with the Ambush for two seasons, honing his skills as a member of the reserve squad. Niko’s father Nicholas played professionally with Panathinakos FC in Athens before relocating to St. Louis in 1994 and eventually establishing the PAO Athletic Club in St. Charles. When not playing soccer, Niko serves as the Assistant Soccer Director at PAO and is also a personal trainer. He welcomes the chance to join the Ambush saying, “I’m thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this organization and I look forward to contributing in every way possible. The best is yet to come.”

Clark said, “We're excited to sign another hometown player. Niko has been training with us for the past two seasons, and at 21 years old, he's eager to prove his worth. We'll see how Coach Hewerton leverages the knowledge and skills that Niko's gained over the past few years as he continues to build the organization for the upcoming season.”
