St. Charles, Missouri (March 25, 2022) – The St. Louis Ambush clash with the cross-state rival Kansas City Comets Saturday at 6:00 p.m. CDT at the Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence.

The Comets have clinched the Major Arena Soccer League’s Central Division title while the Ambush are trying to keep possession of the final wild card playoff berth. The Ambush and Milwaukee Wave are tied for that spot in both points and regulation wins, but the Ambush hold the tiebreaking advantage of having won the season series 3-2 over the Wave. Including this weekend’s match against the Comets, the Ambush have three regular season games remaining (all against the Comets), while the Wave have two. After they host the Ambush on Saturday, the Comets travel to Milwaukee to tangle with the Wave on Sunday. The Comets and Ambush have met three times this season, with Kansas City holding a 2-1 advantage in those games.

Two of the MASL’s most potent offensive threats lead the Ambush and the Comets. Leo Gibson, the Comets’ player/coach leads his team in points (39), goals (23) and is second in assists (16). Gibson has three goals and two assists in his last three games. Mohamed Ndiaye is the offensive leader for the Ambush with 42 points, 19 goals and 16 assists. Ndiaye has three goals and two assists in his last three games played and has scored at least a point or better in his last 12 appearances.

In other news, the Ambush announced they will sponsor an American Red Cross blood drive at The Family Arena on Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CDT. Anyone wishing to donate blood can register online HERE.

After Saturday’s contest in Independence, the Ambush will host the Comets on Saturday, April 2 at 7:05 p.m. CDT at Axius Field at The Family Arena. The two teams will then do battle again less than 24 hours later when they meet on Sunday, April 3 at 4:00 p.m. CDT at Cable Dahmer.
