AMBUSH VISIT PENNSYLVANIA AND MICHIGAN THIS WEEKEND
St. Charles, MO
The Ambush close out the month of January with back-to-back games on the road this Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the team visits the Farm Show Arena in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for the season’s only clash with the Harrisburg Heat. On Saturday, the Ambush take on the Detroit Waza Flo at the Melvindale Ice Arena in Melvindale, Michigan.
Twenty years ago, the original St. Louis Ambush (1992-2000) defeated the original Harrisburg Heat (1991-2003) in four straight games to capture the NPSL Championship. This season marks the 20th Anniversary of that championship and on Saturday, the current St. Louis Ambush (started 2013) journey to the Farm Show Arena for the only meeting with the current Harrisburg Heat (started 2012). The Heat have a 0-12 record and are hungry for their first win. The Ambush come to town looking to improve on their 4-10 record.
Saturday’s match is the second and final meeting between the Ambush and Waza Flo (3-11) this season. The Ambush took the first game 7-6 at the Family Arena on December 13 and are aiming for a sweep of the season series between the two teams.
Following this weekend’s pair of games on the road, the Ambush return home to the Family Arena when they host the Missouri Comets on Friday, February 6 at 7:35 p.m. That night, the current Ambush will honor the players and coaches of the original Ambush and the 2000-06 St. Louis Steamers when former players of both eras will take to the pitch for a halftime alumni game.
Prior to the February 6 clash between the Ambush and Comets, the Ambush will present a celebrity game kicking off at 5:45 p.m. Among the local celebrities scheduled to play are:
