AMBUSH VISIT PENNSYLVANIA, FLORIDA FOR WEEKEND ROAD TRIP

by Jim Fossell

St. Charles, Missouri (January 27, 2022) – The St. Louis Ambush take to the road for two games this weekend. On Friday night, the Ambush visit the Harrisburg Heat. Following that game, the team heads south to square off with the Florida Tropics on Sunday. Fans can catch all the action on the masltv channel on YouTube.

Friday’s match at the Equine Arena at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg kicks off at 6:35 p.m. CST and is the only contest between the Ambush and Heat slated for the 2021-22 regular season. Harrisburg comes into the weekend with a 1-5 record while the Ambush are 5-5. Harrisburg’s roster has some faces that will be familiar to St. Louis, as four Heat players (Tommy Kemennu, Alexis Robles, Jerjer Gibson and Dylan Hundelt) have previously spent time with the Ambush. On the flip side, St. Louis players William Eskay and Marcel Berry previously held a spot on the Heat roster.

The Ambush will find themselves in the Sunshine State for Sunday’s duel against the Tropics at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland. Action gets underway at 2:05 p.m. CST. Florida is off to a strong start with a 9-1 record and a firm grip on first place in the MASL East Division. As with the Heat, the Tropics’ roster has some former Ambush players. Chad Vandegriffe, Brett Petricek, Zach Reget and Anthony Arico all passed through the St. Louis locker room in the past. Sunday’s contest is the first of two between the Ambush and Tropics scheduled for the 2021-22 regular season.

Ahead of this weekend’s action, the Ambush added Curtis Kirby to the roster. Kirby grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia and played collegiate soccer at Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Tampa. Kirby left Tampa early to pursue a professional soccer career in Brazil. He played for both Patrocinense in the Brazilian Second Division as well as Brasilis in the third division. He comes to the Ambush with one season of MASL experience, having played for the Baltimore Blast during the 2019-20 season. Kirby said, “I am stoked to be a part of such a historically rich city in sports like St. Louis and to join one of the original forces in the Major Arena Soccer League.”

Following this weekend’s pair of games, the Ambush visit the Milwaukee Wave on February 6 before returning home to The Family Arena to host the Chihuahua Savage on Friday, February 11 at 7:35 p.m. CST.

Tickets for all remaining Ambush home games are available at the Family Arena box office and at ticketmaster.com. Fans can stay current on all Ambush news by visiting the team’s official website, stlambush.com and on social media outlets.
