AMBUSH VISIT SYRACUSE FRIDAY

St. Charles, MO – The St. Louis Ambush make their only trip of the season to New York when they battle the Syracuse Silver Knights at the Oncenter War Memorial Arena this Friday, January 22 at 6:30 p.m. Central Time. Friday’s contest is the second of two between St. Louis and Syracuse this season. The Ambush won the first match when they defeated the Silver Knights 5-3 at the Family Arena last Friday.

Syracuse (5-6) is presently in third place in the four-team MASL Eastern Division. They have lost two of their last three games. St. Louis (2-9) is in last place in the five-team MASL Central Division, but have won two of their last three games.

Ambush defender Chris Mattingly (left) and goalkeeper Piotr Sliwa (right) each earned “Honorable Mention” from the Major Arena Soccer League in the league’s Team of the Week honors for week 13 of the 2015-16 season. Mattingly tallied a goal and blocked five shots in the January 15 win over Syracuse and he leads the league in blocks with 37. Sliwa registered seven saves on 10 save attempts in earning his second win of the season in that contest.

Following Friday’s duel in Syracuse, the Ambush return home to the Family Arena to close out the month with back-to-back home games Friday, January 29 and Saturday, January 30. On January 29, the Ambush host the division-rival Chicago Mustangs at 7:35 p.m. On January 30, the Baltimore Blast come to town for a 7:05 p.m. showdown.
