AMBUSH VISIT WAVE SUNDAY IN MILWAUKEE

St. Charles, MO (January 10, 2020) – The St. Louis Ambush (3-5) travel to Milwaukee to square off with the Wave (6-1) Sunday, January 12, 2020 at 1:07 p.m. CST at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.

Sunday’s match is the third of five games between the Ambush and Wave slated for the 2019-20 regular season. The Wave prevailed in the previous two meetings between the two teams. The Ambush will be looking to bounce back from a difficult two-game road trip to Mexico last weekend that saw them lose both games, while the Wave will try to extend their five game winning streak.

Key players for the Ambush include forward Tony Walls, who leads the team in points (16) and goals (12) and has eight goals and two assists in his last four games. Another offensive threat for St. Louis is forward Duduca, who had four goals in the team’s losing effort against Sonora on January 3. He has seven points in his last four games. JT Thomas has also been productive for the Ambush, posting six points in his last four games. In goal for the Ambush, Paulo ranks fourth in the MASL in save percentage at .721.

On Milwaukee’s side, forward Max Ferdinand leads the team in points (17) and assists (11) and is tied for the league lead in the assists category. Max has 11 points in his last four games. Forward Ian Bennett is the Wave’s leading goal scorer (13) and is fifth in the league in that category. Ian has nine goals in his last four games. Guarding the net for Milwaukee is goalkeeper Rafael Dias, who is tied for the league lead in wins (six), has the MASL’s best goals against average (3.02) and the best save percentage (.811). 

Sunday’s match will be the first opportunity for defender Jonatan Santos to play against his former team. Santos was acquired by the Ambush in a trade with Milwaukee January 4

Following Sunday’s duel in Milwaukee, the Ambush return home to The Family Arena to host Utica City FC in a pair of games next weekend. The first of the two matches is slated for Friday, January 17 at 7:35 p.m. CST and the rematch will be Sunday, January 19 at 3:05 p.m. CST.
