AMBUSH WILL SEE STARS ON SUNDAY

St. Charles, Missouri (January 9, 2026) – The St. Louis Ambush visit The Evergreen State Sunday, January 11, 2026 when they tangle with the Tacoma Stars at 7:05 p.m. CST at the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington.

Tacoma comes into the game with a 4-2-0 (wins-losses-overtime losses) record, while the Ambush are at 4-3-1.St. Louis is riding the momentum of two consecutive overtime wins, while Tacoma lost to the Empire Strykers in their most recent outing. Each team has won three of their last five games. If the Ambush are victorious on Sunday, they will accomplish a feat no other team has thus far this season, as the Stars are undefeated (4-0) at home. Sunday’s matchup is the first of three between the Ambush and Stars scheduled for the 2025-26 regular season.

Two of the Major Arena Soccer League’s best goalkeepers will be in action if Tacoma’s Luis Birrueta and St. Louis’ Paulo Nascimento play in this game. Nascimento leads the league in saves with 709. Birrueta’s 4.53 goals against average is third in the league. Nascimento’s .717 save percentage ranks second in the MASL. Nascimento is second in the league in wins with four. Birrueta is tied for third with three. Nascimento earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors from the MASL last week.

Following Sunday’s clash in Kent, the Ambush will return home to The Family Arena for their next match. The Empire Strykers come to town Friday, January 16 for a 7:05 p.m. CT first kick.
