BREAKING! PRESEASON UPDATE!

The Culture of We: Preseason is HERE!

Phase 3: Part 2

I was hoping, with my fingers crossed, that the changes the ownership group made over the summer were the right things to do.  Changing responsibilities within the ownership group, changing coaches, changing of staff and players… and I have to say that if the past 3 days are any indication of what is in store for the Ambush – I no longer have to hope.

Preseason started on Monday.  I was anticipating that there would be time spent on conditioning and fitness – but was surprised when the intensity level was kicked up and drills commenced, plays and strategies were being discussed and implemented and expectations were set.  If the focus and energy that I have seen thus far are any indicators of what is to come this season – I don’t believe you will be disappointed.

I can’t tell you how EXCITED I am for this season to start!  There’s a new spark within the players.  A renewed level of intensity.  A rebirth of sorts.  This is something that you won’t want to miss.

While watching the World Cup qualifier this past Tuesday night with a bunch of players, I was reminded of something very important.  Every season and every game is the opportunity for a fresh start.  We are the underdogs.  We had the second worst record last season – and yet, we will not allow that to define who we are today.  We will seize this opportunity, just have others have done before us, to redefine who we are and what we are capable of.

Meanwhile – I want YOU to have the opportunity to experience what WE are seeing and feeling internally.  Come join me at Syberg’s Dorsett on Tuesday, October 17th at 7pm as we host a Press Conference to formally introduce you to Hewerton.  You’ll have the opportunity to hear him speak, meet some of the new players, and witness the unveiling of our logo for the 30th Season of Pro Indoor Soccer in St. Louis.  Just talking about it is getting me PUMPED UP!!!  I’m telling you – there is a different energy in the air, don’t miss out on the chance to be a part of it!

You’ll also want to take advantage of the opportunity to come out and see the players in an exhibition game against Cedar Rapids on Saturday October 21st at 7:05pm at the Family Arena.  This game is ABSOLUTELY FREE – no parking cost, no ticket cost.  Have the kids wear their Halloween costumes and participate in our Trunk or Treat (we have over 20 local businesses participating) and play on the inflatables from 4:30 until 6pm when the doors to the Family Arena will open.

This is our opportunity to show you that we are pivoting, that we are working hard to give you something to cheer about, and that the St Louis Ambush is a team worth supporting.  I hope that you will be as excited as I am as you watch this new team take the field.

There is much to do. But together We can do it. Together, We will do it.
