St. Charles, MO (November 30, 2016) – St. Louis Ambush defender and team captain Chris Mattingly has been named to the Major Arena Soccer League’s Team of the Week for Week Five of the 2016-17 regular season.

Mattingly contributed two assists to help the offense and made six blocks on defense on Sunday, November 27 against Chicago. The Ambush defender also now leads the league in blocks. Although the Ambush lost a 6-5 nail-biter on Sunday, Mattingly's efforts helped keep his team in the game.

Before joining the Ambush, Chris played one season with the St. Louis Illusion (2009-10, PASL) and three seasons with the Illinois Piasa (2010-13). In his first season with the Ambush (2013-14), Chris was third on the team in blocks (26). Last season (2015-16), Chris was first on the team and tied for first in the MASL with 43 blocks.
