St. Charles, MO (November 20, 2020) – The St. Louis Ambush have made an addition to their coaching staff, signing Donnie Alberty as an assistant coach. Alberty is also Head Coach of Men’s Soccer at Fontbonne University.

In 2017, his first season at Fontbonne, Alberty guided the Griffins to a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Regular Season Championship, its first since the 2013 season. The team finished with 13 wins that season which gave Alberty the SLIAC Coach of the Year and his win total is second most in program history for a first-year head coach at Fontbonne.

Prior to joining the Griffins, Alberty spent two seasons as head men’s soccer coach at St. Charles Community College. There, he helped develop one All-Region, four Second Team All-Region, three First Team All-Conference, and four other players that were named to the All-Conference Second Team.

In addition to his coaching role, Coach Alberty serves as the SLIAC representative on the NCAA Central Region Rankings Committee, is a member of the Fontbonne University Mental Health Awareness Committee and this past summer was promoted to Director of Compliance. Coach Alberty has coached with numerous clubs in the St. Louis area and holds a USSF License.

Coach Alberty earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Missouri Baptist University. He resides in St. Peters with his wife Tammy and children, Bryce and Abby.

Ambush General Manager Jeff Locker said, “With his experience in, and ties to, the local soccer community, Coach Alberty will be a valuable addition to our coaching staff as we continue to scout and recruit local players.”

Ambush Head Coach Hewerton said, “Coach Alberty brings us a solid coaching background and the proven ability to develop players. I am excited to add him to our staff and looking forward to working with him.”
