St. Charles, MO (January 23, 2019) – St. Louis Ambush defender Douglas Dos Santos has been named to the Major Arena Soccer League’s Team of the Week for Week Eight of the 2018-19 season. Goalkeeper Paulo, forward Zach Reget and forward JT Thomas earned honorable mention.

The Ambush played two games during Week Eight, defeating the Kansas City Comets 8-5 on the road on Friday, then losing 8-5 to Utica City FC on Saturday. Dos Santos tallied two goals,  an assist and three blocked shots in Friday’s contest, then blocked another shot in Saturday’s match.

Goalkeeper Paulo turned in an incredible performance in Friday’s win, stopping 23 of the 28 shots he faced (.821 save percentage) on his way to his fourth win of the season. What makes his performance even more impressive is the fact that at different points in the game, he took a ball to the face and a foot to the face. Reget posted two goals and a block on Friday, then another goal on Saturday. Thomas had two assists on Friday, then a goal and another assist on Saturday.

The Ambush will be in action on the road this weekend when they play two in the Sunshine State, visiting the Orlando SeaWolves for a 6:35 p.m. CT contest on Friday, followed by a clash with the Florida Tropics at 6:15 p.m. CT on Saturday. After this weekend’s games in Florida, the Ambush welcome both Florida rivals to the Family Arena next weekend, hosting the Tropics on Friday, February 1 at 7:35 p.m. CT, then the SeaWolves on Saturday, February 2 at 7:05 p.m. CT.
