St. Charles, MO (May 26, 2017) – The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) continues to prepare for the International Challenge, hosted by the St. Louis Ambush, with the announcement of two more players being added to the USA and World rosters. The MASL announced today that addition of John Sosa (Kansas City Comets) and Marcio Leite (Milwaukee Wave).

Defender John Sosa joins the USA team after another exciting season for the Comets. Sosa was born in Medellin, Colombia and has since become a naturalized US Citizen as he calls Kansas City home. He played in all 20 games for Kansas City, scoring six goals. His 25 assists were second in the league. Sosa has played with the Comets since 2011 and has accumulated 52 goals, 115 assists and 191 points in his career.

Midfielder Marcio Leite has been an impact player for the Milwaukee Wave since he joined the team in 2010. Although he missed much of the 2016-2017 season due to injury, he has been among the team leaders in every scoring category each season. He has 85 goals and 248 assists (401 points) in his Wave career.

More players will be announced next week. Each MASL team was invited to nominate their players for the International Challenge match and the International Challenge committee will select the rosters.

Leading up to this year’s International Challenge, the Ambush and Family Arena will host the 2017 MASL Player Combine on Friday, June 16 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Combine will give potential players from all over the chance to work out in front of coaches and team representatives from across the league, and have the chance to earn an invite to a preseason MASL camp. Four players from the combine will also be selected to participate in the International Challenge game that night. For more information and registration for the combine, visit or call the Ambush office at 636.477.6363.
