AMBUSH HOST KANSAS CITY IN NEW YEAR’S EVE MATINEE
St. Charles, Missouri (December 30, 2025) – The St. Louis Ambush close out the 2025 calendar year when they host the Kansas City Comets on New Year’s Eve, Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 3:05 p.m. CT at The Family Arena.
Wednesday’s match is the seventh of the 2025-26 regular season for St. Louis and the ninth for Kansas City. It is the fifth of six meetings between the two teams for the season and the third of four in a row. With so many games between the same two teams in a short time span, things can get intense. This was evident when the Ambush and Comets clashed last Saturday in Independence. That was a fierce and physcial contest, with the Ambush collecting 16 fouls and the Comets 15. Kansas City also garnered two yellow cards and one blue, while St. Louis earned two blue cards. Given the long-standing rivalry between the two teams and the frequency of crossing paths, more fierce action is likely when they butt head at The Family Arena on New Year’s Eve.
Ahead of Wednesday’s contest, the Ambush made a roster move, acquiring defender Jayce Berger from Utica City FC for cash considerations. The 2025-26 season is Berger’s third in the Major Arena Soccer League. He spent the previous two seasons with Utica, appearing in 25 games and tallying 20 goals and one assist while blocking 10 opposing shots. Berger also previously spent time in the MASL2 with the Iowa Raptors FC and United Elite Krajisnik FC,
Wednesday’s festivities include the popular New Year’s Eve Kids Bash. Free light sticks will be handed out to the first 1,000 fans along with party hats and noisemakers. After the game, fans will be invited onto the field for a New Year’s countdown and the balloon drop.
Following the New Year’s Eve bash, the Ambush will kick off 2026 the way they ended 2025; by clashing with the Comets. The final game in the season series will be Sunday, January 4, 2026 at 4:05 p.m. CT. at the Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence. The next Ambush home game is slated for Friday, January 16, 2026 when the Empire Strykers come to town for a 7:05 p.m. first kick at The Family Arena.
