MOOJEN EARNS TEAM OF THE WEEK HONOR

St. Charles, MO – St. Louis Ambush forward Freddy Moojen has been named to the Major Arena Soccer League’s Team of the Week for Week 17 of the 2015-16 season.

The Ambush played one game during Week 17, a 10-7 win over the Cedar Rapids Rampage on February 13 in Cedar Rapids. Moojen helped both offensively and defensively, scoring four goals and blocking two shots. After missing the first part of the season with a calf injury, Moojen has registered seven goals and two assists in eight games played. The current season is Moojen’s eighth in professional indoor soccer and his first with St. Louis. He added the title of Assistant Coach to his resume when he was appointed to that position on December 14, 2015.

The Ambush are back in action this weekend as they welcome the Detroit Waza Flo to the Family Arena this Friday, February 19 at 7:35 p.m. The Cedar Rapids Rampage come to town the next night, February 20, for a 7:05 p.m. match at the Family Arena.

Friday, February 26 is Jamie Swanner Night, when the Ambush honor the great goalkeeper and the team’s current goalkeeper coach, Jamie Swanner. The Ambush host the Baltimore Blast in the final home game of the 2015-16 regular season at 7:35 p.m. that night. At halftime, Swanner’s number 00 will be retired and a special banner with his number will hang inside the arena. Swanner is only the third player in St. Louis professional soccer history to have his number retired. The first was Slobo Ilijevski’s number 30 in 1994 and the second was Daryl Doran’s number 7 in 2006.

The Ambush conclude the season on the road when they visit the Milwaukee Wave Saturday, February 27 at 6:05 p.m.
