THE MAJOR ARENA SOCCER LEAGUE ANNOUNCES FULL 2019-2020 SEASON SCHEDULE

KANSAS CITY (September 30, 2019) – The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced today the full slate of games for the 2019-2020 season. Kicking off with five games in three countries on November 22, each team will play 24 games (12 home and 12 on the road) before March 23, 2020.

Opening weekend sees two sets of rivals face each other in hopes of setting the tone for their seasons. The Baltimore Blast and Utica City FC will get a chance to host each other in two games, meanwhile south of the border, Monterrey Flash will welcome Soles de Sonora back to the MASL in a pair of games.

The MASL’s other returning team, the Rochester Lancers, will head north for a weekend against the MetroStars of Canada. In an effort to showcase the game of arena soccer across Canada, the MetroStars will play in six different venues throughout the season. Meanwhile, the newly minted Cal Express will make their home debut against the Kansas City Comets on November on November 22.

The defending champion Milwaukee Wave will start their season on the road as they travel to face the St Louis Ambush on Friday, November 29. They will start their home campaign on Saturday, December 7 when they kick off against the Florida Tropics at 7:07 p.m. CT. To honor their seventh major professional arena soccer championship, the Wave will kick off all their games at seven minutes past the hour.

This year’s schedule will see many teams go cross-conference to face teams they may not have seen in some time, if ever. Classic rivalries, like Baltimore Blast vs San Diego Sockers will be renewed (Jan. 25 in Baltimore, Feb. 12 in San Diego) and new ones will be kindled when the expansion Mesquite Outlaws take on the likes of the Kansas City Comets, the Ambush and their cross-town rivals, the Dallas Sidekicks.

The regular season wraps up on March 22 with seven exciting matches to conclude the campaign. From there, the top four teams in each conference will advance to the Ron Newman Cup Playoffs. To add to the postseason excitement, the top-seed in each conference will get to decide who they face in the opening round of the playoffs.
