THREE AMBUSH PLAYERS EARN A SPOT ON MASL TEAM OF THE WEEK

St. Charles, Missouri (January 27, 2021) – St. Louis Ambush goalkeeper Paulo Nascimento and midfielders Max Ferdinand and Stefan Mijatovic have earned a spot on the Major Arena Soccer League’s Team of the Week for Week Four of the 2021 Regular Season. The honor is the second of the season for both Paulo and Ferdinand, who were also named to the Team of the Week in Week Two.

The Ambush played one game during Week Four, winning their third in a row by defeating the Tacoma Stars 5-3 on Sunday at Axius Field at The Family Arena. Paulo turned in another stellar performance in that match, stopping 14 of the 17 shots he faced and contributing to the offense with a shot that hit a Stars defender before finding the back of the net. Paulo is the only goalkeeper in the league to post a goal thus far in the 2021 season.

Mijatovic tallied two goals and an assist in the contest and is tied for the team lead in goals scored. Both of Mijatovic’s goals were on restarts and involved skillful shots through Tacoma’s defensive wall. Ferdinand, who leads the team and and is tied for the league lead in assists, added two more in the game by assisting on both Mijatovic goals.

The Ambush will be back in action for a pair of games against the Florida Tropics this weekend at Axius Field at the Family Arena. Action gets underway at 7:35 p.m. CST Friday, January 29, with the rematch slated for 3:05 p.m. on Sunday, January 31.
