St. Charles, Missouri (January 6, 2026) -- The St. Louis Ambush are proud to announce that goalkeeper Paulo Nascimento and defender Robert “Big Rob” Williamson have been named Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) Players of the Week for Week 6 of the 2025-26 regular season.

Paulo earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors after a standout performance between the posts. In two games played during Week 6, the Ambush defeated the Kansas City Comets 5-4 in overtime on December 31 at The Family Arena, then came back to top the Comets again 7-6 in an overtime shootout at the Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence.

In those two games, Nascimento tallied 32 saves and stopped all three Comets players from scoring in the January 4 shootout.

Williamson was recognized as Defensive Player of the Week for his dominant presence and leadership on the back line. He blocked six opposing shots in the two games and contributed to the offense with a goal in Sunday's contest.

The MASL weekly awards are voted on by the league and its member teams, making the recognition a true testament to their impact on the field.

“These honors reflect the work ethic, professionalism, and competitive standard we expect from our group,” said the Ambush General Manager, Donnie Alberty. “We’re proud to see Paulo and Big Rob recognized at the league level.”

The Ambush continue their season with momentum as they prepare for upcoming road action when they visit the Tacoma Stars on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at 7:05 p.m. CST at the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington. The next Ambush home game is slated for Friday, January 16, 2026 at 7:05 p.m. when they welcome the Empire Strykers to The Family Arena.
