WEEK SIX TEAM OF THE WEEK PRESENTED BY FORD
It is a new week in the MASL and that means we have a Team of the Week to bring you courtesy of Ford. Here is your Week 6 Team of the Week:
Goalkeeper – Claysson De Lima, Ontario Fury
The Ontario Fury made their 2021 debut with a pair of games on back-to-back nights against the St. Louis Ambush at the Family Arena in St. Charles. Lima was in goal both nights for Ontario and returned home with a pair of wins and 19 saves to his credit.
Defender – Robert Palmer, Ontario Fury
The Ontario Fury defense held tight against the Ambush and that landed Palmer on the Team of the Week. In addition to his defensive performance, Palmer picked up a goal and an assist in his team’s pair of wins.
Defender – Magui Souza, St. Louis Ambush
The Ambush had their hands full Friday and Saturday night against a fresh Ontario team. The St. Louis defense faced a total of 81 Ontario shots over the weekend. Souza recorded six blocks to go with a pair of assists during Saturday night’s game.
Midfielder – Charlie Gonzalez, Ontario Fury
Two goals and four assists are what Gonzalez tallied for a team that scored 15 goals in their first two games of the season. He assisted on two goals on Friday and then logged a four-point performance on Saturday with two goals and two assists.
Forward – Felipe De Sousa, Dallas Sidekicks
The Sidekicks notched their first win of the season Saturday night during a visit from the Tacoma Stars. In a game which Dallas won by a 5-4 final in overtime, De Sousa accounted for three of those goals, including the game winner.
Forward – Franck Tayou, Ontario Fury
The King. The King doing King things. Franck Tayou picked up an assist during Saturday night’s win. That combined with his pair of hat-tricks gave Tayou a seven-point week to start the season. His 3.5 points per game average is tops in the MASL.
